Resource conservation & environmental protection: Projects and initiatives
- We use internal communication channels to raise employees’ awareness of sustainability and share advice on saving energy, sorting waste correctly, using heating efficiently and more.
- Employees can rent e-bikes end e-scooters.
- Employees have the opportunity to lease a company bicycle.
- Interns receive a monthly public transport pass.

Working with BMD Cloud – secure and sustainable
- In terms of data centres, we choose providers that are leading the way in energy efficiency. Microsoft (Azure) and A1 have set themselves the goal of powering their data centres with 100% renewable electricity.
- Shared server infrastructure can help significantly improve the utilisation of IT resources.
- Working with BMD Cloud eliminates the need to purchase costly on-site servers.
- Digital processes can help you use resources more efficiently, for example by reducing paper use.

BMD is aware of its social responsibility towards its employees and society.
Focusing on people
- We also embrace women’s empowerment: among our employees, 50% are women and over 40% of our managers are female.
- We are also particularly proud that more than 40% of all employees have been a part of BMD for more than 10 years. At the same time, BMD welcomes 30–60 new colleagues every year due to our continuous growth.

Promotion of young talents & social initiatives
Some examples of our activities to support young talent include CoderDojo, the Children’s University Upper Austria, the Dual Academy of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO) and our in-house apprentice training program. We also support schools by providing technical equipment and offer innovative internships like the BMD Future Lab.
In addition to fostering professional knowledge, we are committed to promoting safety and well-being for young people—for example through fire extinguisher drills for children, first-aid courses and parent-child workshops.
