BMD: Programs and (software) firewalls

Which ports need to be opened in a firewall to allow for proper operation of the BMD software?

Special attention should be paid to software firewalls. (The following information is based on the default settings recommended and provided by BMD Systemhaus GesmbH.)

The settings of the respective ports can be found as follows.

Archive service (BMDNtcsSvc):

TOOLS → Overview of all TOOLS parameters → Overall system → BMD NTCS service → Port number of BMD archive service

Scheduled runs (BMDNTCSSOAPSvc):

TOOLS → Overview of all TOOLS parameters → Application server → General → Port number

Synchronisation service (BMDSyncService):

TOOLS → Overview of all TOOLS parameters → Overall system → Communication system → Event port

The TCP port of the BMD SQL instance can be found here:

SQL Server Configuration Manager → SQL Server Network Configuration → Protocols for BMD → TCP/IP →  IP Addresses →  TCP Dynamic Ports

Usually, the BMD setup creates all required firewall exceptions.
