When operating BMD under VMWare (also with Parallels) there is a problem involving function keys. Apple claims these keys as function keys for iTunes, Dashboard and Expose, even if Windows is running as VMWare.
In order to use the function keys in Windows, follow this guide:
At the desk, click the magnifying glasses icon on the top right (1), type in the term "keyboard" (2) and run "System Settings Keyboard" (3).
In order to be able to use the function keys in Windows, you have to check the boxes as illustrated below. (Caution: Apple's features are then reversed, so you will need to press a combination of fn and F1 - F12 to use the function keys with Apple.)
The F9 key in BMD is "reserved" for Expose keyboard shortcuts. If you click on "Keyboard shortcuts" (1) in the keyboard settings, you can either remove the tick for Expose entirely (2) or remove it only for "All windows F9".
