When operating BMD 5.5 on Windows Server 2008 or higher, Netspeed is a prerequisite. Running the BMD 5.5 software without Netspeed via a network drive may cause a problem with the Microsoft SMB 2 protocol which in turn can lead to data corruption. In this case, you have to start using Netspeed to guarantee proper operation.
If a transition to Netspeed is not possible, you have to deactivate the SMB 2 protocol. However, this is not recommended by BMD, since in this case the entire server communicates via the (old) SMB 1 protocol.

In order to use the BMD 5.5 online help, you have to install an additional Microsoft package. During the set up, a corresponding message containing the correct download link will appear.

In addition to that, it is recommended to adjust the "Data Execution Prevention" for BMD 5.5.
