When you log into the terminal server, you will see the default desktop. The desktop can be customized freely. To access your data, open "This PC".
To access all of your available programs, click on the start menu at the bottom left.
There are various drives on your server:
In Explorer, data can also be transferred from your local computer to the terminal server and the other way round. To do this, click on the respective local drive (C on MEINRECHNER corresponds to the local C drive of the currently connected computer) and copy the files → then change to the server driver and paste the data there.
Personal documents can be saved in the 'My documents' directory. To do this, click on the icon with your user name on the desktop and then select the appropriate folder:
In Windows Explorer you can easily search for files.
The available programs can be found in the Start menu (bottom left).
You can find your most used programs at the top. Within the Windows Start menu, you can also search for programs by simply opening the Start menu and typing in the name - e.g. BMDNTCS
Shortcuts can be pinned to the taskbar or to a custom Start menu. To do this, select the corresponding link with the right mouse button and select the desired point of the context menu:
Click on "Start" → "Windows Accessories" → "Control Panel". Here various system settings can be changed.
For example, you can change the keyboard layout or the preferred language.
You can change your password with the key combination CTRL + ALT + END. This change also applies for accessing BMD Netspeed.
For more detailed information concerning passwords see: http://www.bmd.com/asp-info.html
You can also lock the desktop in this tab.
On your desktop you can find the icon "Printer":
Here you can check whether all required printers are available and whether the standard printer is set correctly. If you want to print on a local printer, access the 2X Parallels Client and then choose the printer "printer_name_by_2X".
In case you want to set a new Windows default printer, just right-click on the desired printer and → "Set as default printer"
Once you no longer work on the server, close all the programs. To log out of the new BMD ASP Cloud, simply click on the user icon in the Start menu.
Here you can turn off the connection as well.
If you end a session with "X", you will not be logged out of the server, just disconnect from it. All programs remain open on the server. This state is going to last for 3 hours. Then the server logs off the session on its own. These 3 hours will be charged as regular working time (if they are charged according to usage time)! Therefore, you should always log out correctly when ending a session.
In case the connection to the server is unintentionally interrupted (for example due to an issue with your Internet line), the session on the server is also changed to the state of "disconnected". You have 3 hours to rebuild the connection. Once these 3 hours have expired, the session and the programs are terminated. The terminal server is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. In case any maintenance work is being performed, oen day before maintenance you will get a notification when logging into the server. Maintenance work is generally done outside of normal working hours, usually after 7 p.m.
Should there be any problems/errors please contact technik@bmd.at via e-mail. Your request will then be processed as quickly as possible. During regular working hours, problems/errors can also be reported to the technical hotline.
At the terminal server you have the possibility to ask a BMD employee for assistance with any technical problems. If you select remote assistance, the following message appears on your screen:
Answer with "Yes". The BMD employee is now able to see your current screen and can assist you better.
If you cannot close a program properly, you can close it in the Start menu under "process termination".
If a program can still not be closed, please contact: BMD Technik.
If you are a BMD ASP Professional customer, you can use our spam filter (Trend Micro) for e-mails. You have the following options:
BMD ASP Professional customers receive daily reports via e-mail containing filtered e-mails. Senders can be released via the link in the mail.
Here you have the option to release e-mails or to put senders on the whitelist. Please note that it may take a few minutes for an e-mail to be delivered to your mailbox. Ultimately, check your junk mail folder in Outlook (see next point).
Also check your Outlook junk e-mail folder for filtered e-mails.
By clicking on this option you can also release filtered e-mails or senders.
In addition to that, it is possible to directly access and edit the spam filter via the Windows Start menu. This function directly takes you to the login screen of the spam filter we use.
Enter your username and password in order to log in.
This takes you to the "e-mail quarantine" of your account.
Here you can select filtered e-mails and then release them.
Of course you can also put your entire domain on your whitelist.
Click on "Shared senders".
There you can specify the domain. Specify the domain according to the following syntax:
*@desired domain
